We don,t have any photos of Jesus as far as I know.If we did would it make any difference to our faith,would it sign up believers?.I don't think so.There would be endless speculation on their authenticity,books would be written supporting or disproving them.Whole religious sects would be be built around them,in fact Christian "Photoists" might be fighting wars on the strength of them right now.

When I was a kid I though that the easiest way for Jesus to get us all on side and believe, was simply to appear on TV,declare who he was and Bobs your uncle or rather your saviour.After all seeing is believing.

We don't know what he looks like, but there are thousands of icons and paintings purporting to illustrate his likeness. The fact is we don't know what Jesus looked like,but does that matter?.

 'The Yellow Christ,' made by Paul Gauguin in 1889, was one of the key-pieces of the Symbolist movement.Realism goes out of the window here.

So what do you think Christ looked like ?

There's a Photofit app available for either Android or Apple so I though I would try to make a photo fit of Christ. The thing I became aware of is how influenced by the stereotypical image I had of what I thought Christ looked like and the influence all of the pictures I had seen in my lifetime ,whether in a church, on a Christmas or Easter card or on film.You could say well that's what a photo fit is meant to do,and the more accurate the better!.

The trouble is, none of them are accurate,not one.So then what do I think Christ would look like now,today if he just appeared right in front of me?.

The truth is we just don't  know,one persons Christ is another persons ordinary guy,and that's the point. What we should do is look for Christ in everything and everyone. That way we might find out.
